A good day

One of the things I wanted to do during our holiday in Portugal was to get some scuba diving in. Luckily for me I found a company (Dive Time) in Lagos who were doing dives this week.

We (me, Lisa and Andre) headed out this morning and completed two dives, both from a boat. The first was a dive to a depth of about 60 feet on a wall and a reef. Managed to see various fish, coral, urchins, conger eels and an octopus.

The second dive we anchored just off the cliffs and dropped straight down the anchor line to the bottom, which was no more than 25 feet down before swimming in to the bottom of the cliffs. We then followed the line of the cliffs staying tight to the bottom due to the many tourist boats above. Our guide Andre, then led us into a gap in the cliff wall, where visibility was very poor. However once through the entrance we emerged into a cave where we surfaced. The cave had a hole in the roof open to the sky and it was fantastic to get to somewhere that is only accessible through diving.

We dived back down and headed out of the cave and made our way back to the anchor line, getting pulled all over the place by the swell, which had definitely increased in intensity during the dive.

The blip is of Andre and myself as we head out of Lagos marina. Lisa, the other diver isn't in the picture.
