Checking on Cellos

I thought I'd sneak in a quick pic while Chip, our new director, was explaining something to the violins. But then, he suddenly turned and began directing his comments to us cellos - just as I snapped the shot. (we were playing too loudly)

We had a very thorough, and rigorous practice tonight, running the Beethoven (symphony #1) in its entirety, followed by Mozart's "Impresario". I'm finding Chip's directing style to be very organized and methodical. We have two early November performances that I think will be very special!
