Stirling Boating Club.....

...... is on my regular dog walking route. There is a new "Xplore Stirling" interpretation board nearly which gives the history of the club and clubhouse. The building dates from 1906 when it was built at a cost of £776. The club has its roots in swimming as well as boating in the later part of the nineteenth century when, according to the sign, up to 7,000 people watched swimming races and regattas here.

It is good to see the club still thriving - and great to see the boats on the river as I walk around the river with the dog.
