Is the party over?

This is really not a set up photo for the Blip Birthday. It was hanging in a tree on one of our main dog walks. I first noticed it on Monday but didn't have the camera to hand.

There was printing on the balloon at some stage but now illegible. Today just 100 yards away I found another, still partly inflated blue balloon Identical plastic clip and ribbon with the inscription:

Festa dei Bambini, Santuario della Madonna del Sangue (on Flickr as proof)

Web research lead me to a church of pilgrimage in Italy close to the Swiss border which holds a Festa dei Bambini on the second Sunday in October (i.e. on 12th this year). So they very probably made the 250km flight but I am a bit sceptical that two landed so close together.

Then headed on towards the village and at the first house, belonging to Herbert Müller (has a crash barrier repair firm), Josef Müller (farmer) came by on his bike and stopped for a chat and we were joined by Walter Müller (part time farmer/estate agent). Mainly an "agicultural" chat but at one point Walter & I talked about our joint visit to Memmingen Hospital last year to have kidney stones removed. As I said, luckily this year, not a single stone.

Angie home early as she was able to get a car ride out of Munich, one of the train drivers unions, striking again. In the news they refer to the tactics of this small union mainly involved in a power struggle against the other main union, as "The English Disease" refering to pre Thatcher Union tactics.
