Elusive

I've had a few failed attempts at woodpeckers despite having my camera on at least three occasions. Rich even pointed out a green woodpecker low down on the moors the other day which I've never seen before.

After not finding much out and about today, I was pinning some desperate hopes on finding something in the few hundred metres back home.

I didn't hear this lovely little lady. I just happened to be looking up at the right place at the right time.

A greater spotted woodpecker, at last.
