New day - new beginnings

In Benaocaz

We went for a drive in the country. It's quite a challenge to drive in those parts, as the roads are very narrow and crooked, but all the same it's also very interesting to view the different landscape.

Our first stop was in Ubrique, where there are many leather fabrics, and shops that sell leather products. As I kind of needed a new handbag, I thought it was a good idea to use this opportunity to find me a new one. Well ... that was easier said than done. After walking between several stores, spending more time than I had intended, and getting more and more confused, I almost left the town without a new handbag ... At the last moment I decided to go for one I had seen earlier (and of course one that wasn't being sold with a discount ;).

We then drove to the next village, Benaocaz, where we had lunch at a little bar/café, where only locals were sitting and chatting. Afterwards we took a stroll in the narrow streets, where this partly red church tower was the only splash of colour in otherwise white village. Next stop was Grazalema, a much bigger village, and obviously something was going on there, as there were quite a lot of people gathered in the village square, and there was a total chaos at the parking space. We didn't stop there very long, and had intended to drive further up north, to the town of Zahara de la Sierra, but it was getting rather late, so we decided to call it a day, as we didn't fancy driving on those roads after dark. Luckily though the traffic was much lighter on our way back, so it wasn't as nerve wrecking as earlier in the day ;-)
