More on the way

Apartments. Another new building is planned for this corner site on Great North Road. The Turing is almost completed. The one being built next to our building is slowly progressing, while this one and another further west have yet to begin construction. All part of the Council's intensification programme.

A car sales yard immediately east of this photo is included as part of the site for the apartment building. The house currently occupying the corner of the site, was once occupied by a "gentleman's club". When that was closed down, the workers found alternative accommodation, including (briefly) an unoccupied apartment in our building. This house has been unused for two or three years, and has steadily deteriorated.
