The Life Of Ponty Cyclops

Forde Abbey

The last full day of the bowls trip and the tradition mystery trip.

This year we headed over to Forde Abbey near Chad.

Forde Abbey was built in 1136 and has been added to and rebuilt ever since. It is still a "working home". It was also one of those wonderful hidden gems that dad always seem to find for the mystery trip. It had a wonderful set of gardens to wander around in.

We had a private tour of the house before opening in the morning, and after a lunch as much time as to explore as was allowed.

Everyone was a bit shattered by evening, and the tour began to wind down. Homeward bound tomorrow, via Weston-Super-Mare.
