'Buddhist Temple'

This morning we visited the Bright Moon Chinese Buddhist Temple in Springvale. Housed in the old original ramshackle temple there is a wooden plaque (a Dragon) in memory of my father in law. The monks will prey for all of the souls who's families have contributed to these wooden plaques.

The brand new temple is still under construction, but when it's finished, the wooden plaques will be rehoused in it.

It was a very tranquil place to wander, even with all of the very bright gold and red everywhere and on a Sunday anybody can come along a receive a free vegetarian meal prepared by the volunteers that work here.

This shows one of the incense pits helping to create the calm atmosphere around the terrace.

Back to Box Hill for lunch at a Malacaa, very nice Malaysian restaurant and really great prices too, but the huge meals just weren't enough and we walked around the corner to the Dessert Story a restaurant that solely serves Hong Kong style desserts. We shared all shared a shaved ice cream and mango bowl which was the size of a small volcano. We were all very full after polishing that off.
