Driftwood

A blustery hour or so spent down at Kennet Pans, near the old abandoned whisky distillery, collecting driftwood to burn and melt marshmallows off, and to sit around eating stovies if the weather allows later in the week. Much more pleasant than the soft furnishings shopping I (mostly) avoided prior to this in the irritatingly busy retail park. Irritating partly because it was so packed with people and cars whizzing around, but partly because it seems, as we've now rocketed through Halloween, we're fully committed on Christmas now. I've heard a lot of folk say this year's flown in too; maybe if we'd only sit back and let these things come to us instead of dragging the arse out of everything for weeks months beforehand (and ignore all adverts on the TV for sofas) it might not feel like that.

Off to get my order in for next year's Easter eggs now.
