Wild Iris at Point Reyes National Seashore

My hiking group meets on Fridays. Today the scheduled hike was to Alamere Falls at Point Reyes National Seashore. Rain was predicted and only four of us were willing to brave the elements. It turned out to be perfect hiking weather, and the predicted rain failed to materialize. Even though the wild flowers were just beginning to appear, we spotted about 20 varieties. This is one of the showiest and one of my favorites.

It was a glorious day spent in the company of good friends.
