Red-bellied Woodpecker

This Red-bellied Woodpecker paused for a few seconds this cloudy afternoon on our back fence, and I managed one decent shot of it. It's the first time we've ever seen this species around our house--very exciting! It's a female, since the red extends only part-way up the back of its head. The red on these birds' belly is faint at best, but here a bit of it is actually visible, just in front of the base of the tail.
