Service

This is the tie bar from my father's U.S. Marine uniform, now hanging in the attic. He served for a few years near the end of the Korean Conflict. The experience had a strong bearing on him the rest of his life. I wanted to salute him on this Veteran's Day.

My youngest sister and I spent the afternoon with our mother, sorting clothes in the dressers at their house. 4 large bags are being donated to a charity and the rest she will keep at her new apartment. We are slowly working our way through the house and eventually the only things left will be those that can be auctioned before the house is sold. It's a slow process, there are laughs and some sadness.
