Liking the lichen

It's that time of year again when I suddenly start noticing the lichen. There are few colourful flowers and insects to compete and plenty of grey days when the subtle colours and textures of lichen can be stunning. This is a small section of the trunk of one of a line of Alders that line the lane where I walk. There are probably more than four different species in this photograph, but I realise my ID skills are rather rusty.
