Now, as I see it......

Country Walk

A late night last night (by our standards). We met with some friends in London for a meal and then went on to a show. The occasion was the last of the extended birthday celebrations for a friend; her husband had arranged the evening as a surprise so when she arrived at the restaurant she had no idea that six of us were already there! I'm pretty sure she enjoyed the evening. Our train was a bit delayed so it was well after 12:30 by the time we got home.

So today, after the excitement of the big city we just did one of our favourite walks across fields around the village. The fields were very muddy as was the stretch by the ford that I managed to sit down in when I lost my footing. At least the camera was fine, but the jacket and trousers are definitely due for the wash. Towards the end of the walk we passed an isolated cottage where an old lady with dementia lives. She has a carer there all the time and today she was out in her garden and clearly thought I was her son, Andrew, walking past. Although we had said hello she started calling 'Andrew, Andrew' after us for long after we had crossed the field next to the house and gone into a wood and out of view. She was clearly distressed at the thought that her son had walked off and ignored her; what a sad affliction.
