The Scratching Post

With three cats in our household and two of those being big Maine Coons; we need quite a few scratching posts. The cats’ favourites are some that my builder brother made. They are very sturdy and each has a small platform on the top of it. The cats often take a flying leap from the floor to land neatly on the little platform. The Maine Coons are very tall animals when they are standing stretched out to claw away at the upper sections of the scratching posts. The carpet coverings are decimated in no time at all. The one that Molly is eyeing up in this image has been re-covered for the third time. But at least the posts keep the cats from scratching at the furniture….most of the time…..
