Brightness and Contrast

The morning is like a simile but the evening, the evening is a metaphor

This morning's light was as clear and clean as a knife
As sharp as ice
As cold as life
As various and teeming as sight

This evening's mist was a diamond veil
An obscuring halo
An illuminated weight
A heavy, pressing, fallen to Earth cloud
