Baby Black-winged Stilt

I went for a ride this morning to Bicentennial Park. I was away much longer than I planned because I came across interesting people to chat to like the bird watcher who had just purchased her new camera and Ben, a fellow cyclist, from west of London who was in Australia for nine months to name just two.

I think this is a baby black-winged stilt wading through the mud. (Closer look.) It was completely on its own with the adults quite a distance away. I had an enjoyable time with the Tamron 70-300mm lens as it was the first time I had gone out to specifically capture birds.
