YOU WILL BE MISSED!

This is Isaac, our favourite barista at The Old Bank Brasserie in Old Town, Swindon - but today is his last day because he is going back to the Reunion Islands as his father is unwell.

The Old Bank is one of our favourite places for coffee - no sooner do we put our heads in the door than Isaac can be seen making our lattes - both in a glass, but mine extra hot and a bit stronger and Mr. HCB’s - well, just as it comes.

We asked Isaac if he had trained the others well, so that they will do the same when he is gone, and he said with his wry smile, “I hope so.”

On a Saturday morning, it is more like a Coffee Club with the same people meeting up there and Isaac knows them all well - what a shining example of a good and enthusiastic employee, who makes everyone feel special.

We will miss you, Isaac, and may even take you up on your offer to have an “Old Bank Reunion” in the Reunion Islands - and of course, that will include Trevor and Louise and Noreen and John.

Whatever job you find to do when you get back home, we hope it will be a tremendous success and look forward to hearing from you sometime.

“Excellence is never an accident.
It is always the result of high intention,
sincere effort, and intelligent execution;
it represents the wise choice
of many alternatives -
choice, not chance,
determines your destiny.”
Aristotle (384–322 B.C.E.)

As French is Isaac’s first language, and I promised I would send him a link to my blip - here is the quote for him in French:

L'excellence n'est jamais un accident.
C'est toujours le résultat de haute intention,
effort sincère et exécution intelligente;
il représente le choix sage
de beaucoup d'alternatives -
le choix, pas la chance,
détermine votre destin.
