Lit Up Like A Christmas Tree

I arrived a little early for the mince pie and mulled wine party at my mother's care home so had a drive to Bradwell-on-Sea. The nuclear power station, which is being decommissioned, was a huge beacon of light. I took some pics and then went to photograph the airfield memorial.

At five o'clock lots of the lights were extinguished and the road filled with traffic as the workers left for home. The above pic was taken after the lights had been turned out.

I remember this Magnox being built when I was a child. We were fascinated by how the Dengie country lane from our village to the station was widened and straightened. As I drive it now it's not very wide and extremely twisty.
