Angkor Wat sunset

I hired a tuk tuk to take me to 8 different temples, finishing with Angkor Wat for sunset. Most of the temples only needed 15-20 minutes although some were more interesting and could be explored for longer.

Arriving at Angkor Wat is suitably over the top as you walk across a bridge over the huge moat which surrounds the world's largest religious monument. Once inside the grounds people usually take photographs next to a pond to get the famous shot with the reflection. Then you enter the temple and finally up to the main tower which had a queue. As expected, there were a lot of tourists.

Finally I went back to the pond and waited for the sun to go down. Shooting temples during the day is almost pointless due to the harsh light but for 10 minutes before sunset when the sun dipped below the clouds, it lit up the surprisingly dark temple with golden sunshine. It was worth coming to Siem Reap just for those few minutes.
