By harbour edge

Early flight to Wellington, and then in a meeting room all day. Emerged to a windy and overcast Wellington evening. Had a run along the waterfront as far as Te Papa (the National museum).

In a small enclosed area (must once have had some connection with the main wharves) are some poles and piles poking up out of the water. Some have copper covering the top and pigeon poo on that. The pigeons were flying into this area; some then went under a bridge sort of thing. This one came back to perch on its own on top of the pole.

Maybe it was attracted by the colours on the old wharf pile beyond.
