Flagged up

Astonished to find an isolated tree on the cliff top adorned with prayer flags. They weren't here a few days ago.
That ivy-clad post dates from the time a transatlantic cable came ashore here.
Flags and wires: both ways of communicating, signalling, connecting.

I've been lying low a couple of days. The weather's rough, the days are short, the evenings long and silent, apart from the wind.. It's easy to feel cut off, isolated and incommunicado.
My Blip subscription runs out at the end of the month and I've been seriously wondering whether to renew. The preview of the redesigned version* doesn't appeal especially the loss of the white-on-grey interface. It seems that the very things that make Blipfoto distinctive are being removed in order to facilitate use with smart phone apps.

*Example here if you haven't already seen it.

I guess it's too late for prayers.
