A dragon a day...

...keeps mosquitoes at bay.

I am moderately sure this is a Unicorn Hunter (Austrogomphus cornutus) and I say moderately sure because so many of these insects look so similar to each other.

It was beautiful down by the creek today, but I was really disappointed because I'd set my heart on getting a monarch, and although I saw a couple they weren't hanging around to play.

Perhaps it's a bit too early in the season for them.
