Enter the Doobry

Been a busy few days so some backblipping...

The Card Doobry has arrived a while back but Paul who will Explain Everything isn't here to do that until Friday. We thought it would be a good idea to see what was in the box.

Slightly disappointed it's not wireless, but the general technology and demeanour of the manual was aimed at a very low level. Put the purple cable into the "Magic Box" (I kid you not)... and the like.

The washing machine in the cottage has died. No problem, we have a spare from our merge of three houses.

Well, no problem until you find that some (insert expletive of choice) bodger has removed the plug from the washing machine and hard-wired it straight into the mains cabling, using the oft-seen insulation-tape-bulge method!

Sigh. I am perfectly capable of fixing it but Part P rules mean I have to get a spark to do kitchen electrics.
