Funereal Trees

This was the view from the car park at the crematorium this morning.

The occasion was sad, but not unrelentingly so. It was a chance to think about mum before the dementia took over, and to meet half-forgotten people from her past. There were only a few family members, as we're not very prolific breeders, and many of her friends have already died. Missing from the proceedings but looming large in all our thoughts was my father - he's vaguely aware of her death, but said he didn't want to go to the funeral, which was the right decision.
