Bridge to Meadowbank Station

This bridge provides access to Meadowbank Station from Taylor Pass Road. Although it looks rather flimsy in this image it is actually very strong. There is a weight limit on it but I have seen articulated trucks full of harvested grapes crawling slowing across the structure. For anything over the weight limit there is a ford immediately downstream of the bridge.
There are big slabs of concrete and rocks in place across the river under the bridge. These are stepping stones which are welcomed by walkers and mountain bikers. If the Taylor River is in flood we keen walkers and mountain bikers can still get to the other side by using the bridge itself. The golden hills and the mountain in the distance are upstream and to the south of this vital link to Meadowbank Station.
