River raft race fun

For one who wasn't in the river I got a bit wet but most importantly the camera was dry :-)

Here is a selection of photos from the annual River Raft Race on the local Heathcote River. It was lots of fun and I'm glad I went.

A couple of other blippers were there Be@NZ and Pixel Smith (minus that 7D which is broken).

It was a lot of fun. There will be some tired Mum's, Dad's and kids tonight. A lot of work went into the rafts and most lasted the distance. I like the fact this was an old fashioned event, in that it was low tech, low cost, adventuresome and required the kind of ingenuity we regularly employed as kids.

I bet everyone who took part will remember today for a very long time.
