Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Tax Day USA

This day has been anything but taxing!

We have enjoyed ourselves immensely and then some. We took two long walks . . . one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. Each walk produced fabulous fun moments.

In the morning we walked into the little quaint village of Laguna. When we spotted the Porsche Speedster, Mr. Fun lost his breath. We had to just stand and drool for awhile, make that a long while. I took lots, I mean lots, of photos for our friend Michael, who lives in Berkeley Hills and owned a Speedster (until it was stolen). So we emailed a photo or two to Michael.

We also spotted some giant, and I do mean giant, calla lilies. I did capture them, but there was just no way to reveal their size. Also found some beautiful Bird of Paradise, Martha Washington Geraniums, mellow yellow iceplant blossoms, and beautiful sunflowers. But none of them made the finalist list, except the large succulent carved with the initials of lovers. The seashore was just too captivating.

So people strolling, a bride & groom twirling, a surfer catching a wave, the view southward of Main Beach and looking toward our hotel, and the finale--the sun's spectacular drop into the ocean just north of us.

It would be difficult to nail-down what exactly was the highpoint of the day, but seeing two bride's on the sand brought tears to my eyes. The promise and the potential of a young couple is so powerful. We returned to our hotel to realize we're surrounded by bridal parties. A wedding weekend is about to happen in Laguna.

Good night from these two vacationers in Laguna Beach.
