Boneyard Beach

A colleague of my wife tipped her off about the Black Rock Trail in Big Talbot Island State Park, north of Jacksonville.

The short trail leads to Boneyard Beach, which has to be accessed by a wooden ladder. The beach gets its name from the many live oaks and cedar trees that once grew near the shore but now litter the beach, with their limbs weathered over time by the elements. Boneyard Beach is indeed an apt description.

Thanks for the comments on yesterday's photograph of the red rose.
