I wonder if that means they are twice as expensive as the caged variety?

Just returned from a school parent council meeting.

*Rant alert.

It is sad when the head teacher agrees that the "Time out" that "Our young people" have had, has been quite excessive this year and that he "hopes" that it will not have a detrimental effect on their exam results. References to "getting the whips out" so they will "Do us proud", did not endear him to me any more than usual.

It is also sad when a head of department confesses that she is glad her children have grown up and will not suffer as a result of the new "Curriculum for excellence initiative" from the government. Unfortunately mine will!

One small victory. I took the Head aside at the last meeting and complained about the unfairness of some pupils having better equipment supplied by the school and others having, (as he put it) "Sub standard" equipment. He said that some schools didn't even have the sub standard kit, so we should be thankful that we at least had some.
It seems he has had his knuckles rapped and has found money to buy some more of the better equipment, therefore they can all have the same standard of kit.

Sometimes it's good to stomp your feet.

Had a good day at work, Yes you read that right.
Well half a day, perhaps that's why. Managed to "Do lunch" with a colleague and enjoy some glass half full, chat.

Boys back to school tomorrow, so better go and iron those dreaded trousers.

Where is that glass?
