Back yard blip again

Nibble, nibble like a mouse
Who's that nibbling on my house suet cake?

The red patch on his head caught my attention when this red-bellied woodpecker showed up at our suet feeder this morning to enjoy a feast. Looks like it's almost time to replenish his food supply.

The sun didn't put in an appearance all day today or yesterday or Monday (if I remember correctly). Yesterday the weather was so miserable that they cancelled Michael's track meet when lightning began to flash after the team's bus had already driven the 25 miles to Madison. The forecast is for better weather over the weekend. We ready for it!
