Tragedy

I wish I had gotten a picture of this Paphiopedilum earlier, while it was still intact.

The most unfortunate event took out this gorgeous orchid today.

My chandelier above the kitchen table fell, and on its way down, it broke a plate, a pair of sunglasses, and this orchid.

I had a much easier time with the loss of the plate and the glasses, but what broke my heart was seeing this beautiful orchid destroyed. Call me silly, but it actually brought tears to my eyes.

So I decided to capture its gorgeous flower before it wilts away. And hope for another one to bloom at some point.
