Puffin

Must have seen hundreds of puffins on the Isle of May today; mostly they stand around in social groups or whizz overhead with whirring wings, sometimes with a beak full of sand eels. I think they are my favourite bird - so adept at fishing, swimming and digging and reasonable at flying, yet so comical when trying to take of or land! (Their Dutch name delightfully translates as "sea parrots".)

This was the only shot I got of a lone puffin, but it also seemed to convey something of the day's weather.
