Asparagus Tarts

Tomorrow is our equivalent of the "Village Fete". Every year those who have gardens rather than "habitat" open them to the public. The rest of us have various fund raising activities like providing teas, plant stall, running the car park etc. Julia and I run the produce stand. Julia has been making piles of cupcakes and rounding up contributions from the rest of the village. I usually make about 20 asparagus tarts, candles, fudge and meringues. I bake the cases the night before and finish the tarts just before opening time so they are hot and fresh.
The proceeds of the day go to the Church, the Village Hall and the Villager Bus.
