The Old Schoolmaster's House

The old Schoolmaster's House was built about 1877 and is a prominent landmark in Belfast, Christchurch, NZ.
It was saved from demolition and is now a feature of the Kapuatohe Historic Reserve. There was mention of the house being involved in secret World War II research on long-range air warning technology!  There is also a Crofter's Cottage which was built about 1870.
Today it is only open between the months of September and May.  There is a historical day in October which I may pop back for, would be nice to see inside.

Quiet day for me, I've had one of those niggly headaches which just won't go away.  The morning was beautiful as you can see from the photo but this afternoon a low cloud came over and it turned quite cold and dull.  Glad I got the photo this morning. I thought about changing this to sepia but the day was too good and the colours appealed.

Hope the week is going well for you :)
