Down to Cape Comorin

The day started with our visit to the ancestral village, where there is a temple our ancestors worshiped. We planned to visit the temple before heading down. We were put up in a dilapidated, age old ancestral house with only few rooms still intact. I was warned not to explore much, as few areas of the house are in really bad shape and can come down anytime. But I could not stop myself from exploring the place because I have not seen such huge houses in the city :) After a bit of exploration, visit to the temple and a delightful lunch we started our journey down to the cape.

3 long hours of journey brought us to the very end of peninsular India. But there was a surprise in store for us. Though it is not a monsoon season down south, it was raining quite heavily when we reached there. We were strictly told not to venture near the beach area. With Sunset (Cape Comorin is famous for both Sunrise and Sunset views) also not visible due to the clouds, we just had to stay indoors rest of the evening, hoping for the skies to clear up in the morning.
