Silk purse; sow's ear

Am very tired so this blip will be unadulterated sow's ear. Was thinking I might not take any photos today but spotted this on my way home from collecting our Thai take-out.

Last night's 'carrot' turned about to be a brilliantly fun night out with a great dinner, smoothly delicious red wine and lots of happy chatter. Possibly a little bigger and later than common sense would have suggested but we've both made it to the other side of very busy days and take-out eaten an early night is in order.
