Outahere!

Took the scenic route home from Euan's dental appointment today, and made a few stops to stretch legs and grab some pictures.

We stopped off for another walk around the abandoned World War I and II munitions depot on the banks of the River Forth near South Alloa, at Bandeath. It's riddled with asbestos inside the 30 or so remaining big warehouses although the sheep that inhabit the area now have done their best to contain any airborne contaminants by laying down a deep, moist and fragrant carpet of crap over the last few decades. The whole place absolutely reeks.

These unique buildings are positioned around the complex and seem to have been some form of protection for the firewatchers in case any of the explosives contained in the buildings ignited or if there was an air raid. Of course, these two had to have a peek inside to see what was there. Heather tentatively shuffled inside and as she reached her hand around the inner wall in the darkness she touched something cobwebby and let out an almighty girly shriek. Of course, that was nothing compared to the sheep-chasing girly shriek that Euan the arachnophobe echoed, swiftly followed by this sharp exit.

Talking of sharp exits, it was Samantha's last day in her current job, and she moves on to pastures new on Monday. All a bit emotional for her I think so I'm waiting here with a medicinal bottle of Pinot Grigiot in chilled preparation.

EDIT: Just noticed my year ago blip there, still one of my favourites from last year, and taken on a back up mobile phone too. Passed the same garage again today and Euan remembered it clearly , didn't realise it was a whole year ago. Blip-time flies...
