Arts On

Tonight was 'Arts On' at Daughter E's school.
This is the costume Daughter E, left, and her friend V, right, spent endless hours making. They entered in the 'Kiwiana' division.

They have used the NZ Native Flax which they spent hours and days weaving and our NZ Native Ferns for the skirt. Usually the ferns die down over winter but Daughter E has been covering them every night for several months trying to keep them alive. She cut these ones last Friday as we were due for bad weather and has been spraying them with water since to keep them green and fresh looking. It was all fingers crossed that they would last.

Both girls worked very hard, had a lot of fun as did all the other participants.
Daughter E and V were congratulated on their hard work by being the Overall Winners for the Senior Section - well done girls.

Please check out Daughter E's Blip for another view.

Time for bed - its getting late :)
