a day in the life of Jack

Bus ride to school...

Today Jack had his preschool orientation. It's a special day set up to let the kids try out riding on the school bus, to meet the teacher and see the other kids in their class. It's also special because the parents can ride the bus with them so it's not so stressfull when they do it themselves next week!

Jack was pretty excited, we stood outside waiting for the bus and he was jumping up and down when we could hear it approaching! He hopped right on and found us a seat! The bus ride was bumpy, and with Jack being a little guy (and used to being strapped in a carseat with a 5 point harness!) he bounced all over the seat. He kept looking out the window, talking about how the bus was moving so fast! Of course, he ended up bumping his head on the window and started crying for a second, but I quickly got him looking back out the window.

His classroom was great, lots of toys and things to do! His teacher is wonderful...she is younger, soft spoken and is great with the kids. His class is small, just 9 kids. His teacher Miss Brown even had the kids sit in a circle to hear a story about children being away from their parents for the first time, and that it's okay to miss them, but not to worry because they'd be seeing them soon!
Miss Brown asked every child who they'd miss, and Jacks answer was a very softly spoken, "Mommy and Daddy". :):):)

Hopefully next week goes okay...he'll be on his own. Something he isn't used to doing. Keep your fingers crossed!
