It Started Down Under

Orvelte

Today we went to Orvelte, an historic village with ancient farms, houses and people. It was harvest day so we visited the town by covered wagon. "Pasterop" was regularly the phrase used by the driver to alert people to step aside in the narrow streets.

We bought a dropsoldaat and a stroopsoldaat in a local candy shop and saw a performance by the irish folk band Unicorn. We had lots of fun enjoying the activities that day: making rope, harvesting hay, milking cows, etc.

This evening we went to visit the Westerbork market. First we visited the church and later we walked around the rainy market. Where we saw the exact same carrousel as in Orvelte that afternoon.
