Storm Chaser

...winter changed into spring, spring changed into summer, summer changed back into winter, and winter gave spring and summer a miss and went straight on into autumn...*

It felt like the weather today did all of the above. By the time the thunder and lightning took over this afternoon (can't remember the last time we had a proper thunderstorm round these parts) I'd decided to go and do some storm chasing.

Ok, so the storm happened to be heading in the same direction as my drive home and it's not quite tornado alley but there were some towering clouds and a real menacing looking sky skulking over the Forth Valley today.

I'd optimistically hoped to get some lightning in these shots but it was past its worst by this point so there was no electrical pyrotechnics to be had. Then again, standing in a wide open space next to huge electrical pylons during a lightning storm and a tripod in hand might not be the best idea.

*Samantha booked tickets today for Spamalot in Edinburgh. The opening quote above is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail one of my absolute favourites. Not 100% convinced about a musical version though, but still really looking forward to it.

Still on the Arthurian theme, apparently Liechtenstein (the country) has the same population as Falkirk (from the well know phrase "Get tae falkirk", and next to Camelon, the legendary home of King Arthur**). Surely that means a chance of some goals tonight?

** Some expert did claim that once, I'm pretty sure i read it/saw it on a TV programme/was told it by a man in a pub.
