Southwark scarecrow

A cycling adventure led me to Southwark Bridge, which was hosting a feast in celebration of the Thames Festival. Two rows of tables spanned the bridge and there were families and individuals chatting, making hats, eating, decorating gingerbread people and learning how to thatch or keep bees. I had the most amazing lime and ginger brownie washed down with magic lemonade (it really was called 'magic lemonade').

The adventure then took me north into the City, past Spitalfields and Colombia Markets, through some very nice, small shops (they've been noted for future adventures), some tea at the cycle shop Lock 7, where I bought a pannier that is also a girly bag (brilliant!) and ordered a stylish cycle helmet. Onwards then to Islington and south to home, a pint and some potato wedges. A most excellent adventure.
