Displacement activities

By Detritus

A very English day out.

Today was the annual charity air day at Seething. Seething is a small, rural village that in 1942 became home for the USAAF 448th Bomb group. A corner of the airfield remains, housing the Waveney Flying Group, and the control tower museum, maintained and run entirely by volunteers.

Every year there is an air day to raise money for charity, including military vehicles, classic cars, entertainment, and of course, flying displays. Fund raising was this year (and last) for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. I like it because of the charitable causes it supports, and also because I like to support my local museum.

Nothing sums up this day for me better than this shot - wire wheels and donuts. (For those interested it's a Jaguar XK150).
