Gerry

It's the weekend so everybody's on a break so this hardly counts. After taking Ewan to his swimming and then up to Waterstones to get the remainder of the Spiderwisk Chronicles books we headed home for a quick lunch and then headed through to Glasgow to my brother's (and his wife's and kids').

It had been noted via the mother that the last visitation (either to our's or their's) had been in January. Close family. No particular reason. Mildly embarrassing but not too much since Gerry is a clever guy, familiar with the workings of all modern forms of communication. But, you know how it is, life gets in the way and those two, having been in the same house for donkey's years have negligible mortgage commitments and are regularly burning up fossil fuels on wee holidays. Gits. Anyhow, the visit was arranged and we had packed the required volume of clothes, snacks and alcohol for a night at the brothers.

We had been informed that the kids, Sally and Jamie, would be out, them being old enough have social lives. As it turns out, Jamie would be back later, which cheered Ewan, since he hero-worships Jamie but also meant that Mandy and I would be sleeping in his bed while he would be despatched to Gerry's man-shed at the bottom of the garden. Nae luck Jamie.

So, this is Gerry doing a spot of cooking while I sit on the kitchen step chatting and doing what one does in these situations - taking photos.
