one way to hide it

As it looked as if there was already someone in the flat this evening when I trundled past with the single replacement lighting-tube Nicky had bought earlier today I kept trundling past and trundled onwards to B&Q for a second replacement tube, to be fitted at a later point when the tenants can be warned so that they aren't unpleasantly surprised by a sweaty, bearded man in a bright yellow T-shirt and bicycling-hat sneaking into the outer hallway with a stepladder. I'm not sure if we need to give them notice if we're not actually knocking at their door to inspect them but I would consider it polite to be warned that someone with a key to the outer door will be turning up and using it. Hopefully they won't notice that the stepladder is currently being kept in the cupboard we've not given them a key for as Nicky's bike, the old lawnmower and a spare bit of plasterboard are also still living there and shall have to remain there for a little while yet. Most other tenants in the block don't seem to have keys for it and as far as I know there was only one other owner-occupier apart from us who ever used that cupboard.

I'd heard one hardcore Leithron whinging about the incipience of the New Tesco on Duke Street, though the grounds for whinging were unclear and possibly just that there are already far too many of the buggers around, even if the Great Junction Street version doesn't count as it only sells crisps and ice cream. I only require Tesco to stock two product lines but despite the size of the newbie it lacks one of them, though I can now acquire my preferred form of muffin more conveniently than before (though only before 10pm and only if I remember that the north door shuts at nine in a way similar to the irritating way that the door nearest the bicycle racks at Coastal Asda are shut at ten, presumably because lazy people who drive there and probably use a trolley can't be expected to walk the length of the building to get in and out) without having to make bag-space on my way past one of the many other branches (or, more usually, making a special trip specifically to find them). The south entrance already seemed to be popular with a small ned/jakey crowd despite the shop staff's best efforts to repel them by playing Extreme through the PA system.
