Tree Day

Not sure if it's national or international tree day but we're celebrating it here in Ireland! All activities today have been tree-related, starting off with a nature walk identifying trees and collecting leaves, berries etc. We ended up in the cemetery where there is the most magnificent Cedar of Lebanon - at least 200 years old. We all gave it a hug - Prince Charles would be impressed! Here we are being slightly more scientific and measuring the width of the tree - 11 infants wide!!

The view beyond the tree is sublime - goes straight down the bay and beyond to the Atlantic. It's an estuary, stinky at low tide but full of birds - will be blipped at some point.

Grey and windy but mild. My brother has returned from France and I've just booked to go and see youngest son in Bristol next week :) Other than that all is calm and my weekend starts here :)
