Fireman D...

Today our very local fire station had an open day - so we took the kids along after lunch for a nosy - it was immense! They had fire engines through the ages to have a climb in and a look at, lots of firemen in uniform (woo hoo!!), a Newfoundland rescue dog as big as a horse (apparently - we missed that one), barbeque, bouncy castle, firefighting and rescue demonstrations, pipe band (yes, really!), various charity stalls and information stands, a chuck-a-wet-sponge-at-a-firefighter stall and some sort of giant fundraising darts competition. Wow.

Wee D was chuffed to bits to be sitting in a fire engine and wearing a firefighter's helmet here - not a great photo I know, but captured a moment. The doll he's clutching is his favourite - her name is Chloe and he takes her everywhere.

Husband off out galavanting again tonight, so I'm left on my own with a bottle of Rioja and the X-Factor. What a shame.... :-)
