Good news

It is a very rare thing indeed. For a piece of good news to be on the lips of the whole world for 24 hours.

No matter how cynical you are by nature (and you could find things to cast a shadow quite probably in terms of the commercialism that might follow) nevertheless it was universally seen as a moving and joyful event. And Chile did a good job!

Last night at the hospital I was speaking to the doctor on the ward looking after my mother. She confessed she shed a tear each time another of the 33 rose to the surface, a sentiment I heard repeated throughout this morning.

So, good news. Sadly, the focus of the world's attention will have moved within hours! Another good news story? Unlikely!

As an afterthought, I dedicate this blip as a cheering thought to one of my favourite blippers - Amalari - she knows why! (The clue is in the newspaper!)
